Class
Economy |
In our class, we use a mini-economy to learn economic concepts and responsibility. Here is a tour of how our class economy works. If you are a teacher looking for copies of all the documents used in our mini-economy, they are all located under the description. |
| Each student in our class is given checks and a transaction register. This will help us keep track our withdraws and deposits. Everyone will start with $50.00 of T-Bucks in their checking account. Ask your local bank about donating check registers and covers.
|
|
| T-Bucks are earned through classroom jobs, good deeds, and homework. Homework and good deeds are paid in cash and jobs are paid each week in the form of a check. We may also have to pay fines for poor choices and missing homework. |
|
| At the end of a work week, Mrs. T will give us a paycheck which we need to go deposit at the bank. The banker gets to stamp "PAID" on all the received checks. |

| Of course we will be able to spend our hard earned money at the class store at the end of the month, but only after we have paid our rent and bills. We have to pay rent for our desk and locker and also water/trash, cable/Internet, and electricty bills. We pay these bills with our checks and keep track of all this in our transaction register. Bill Payment Record (for clipbaords)

| Our class store is supplied by goods and services from Mrs. T and by us. If we supply our own goods or services to sell, we get to keep the profits.
