Classroom Tour

 

 

Welcome to the room! Here are a few shots from different spots in the room. We have 9 lamps and 5 windows that provide our soft lighting. I also have lots of flowers, greenery, and pictures of my students, friends, and family to make our room feel like a home. I try to make the room as cozy as I can because it make everyone more relaxed and ready to learn. Who can learn in a stale room with overhead lighting? We are lucky to have tables in our room that foster good communication and provide us with extra space for learning. I love being in our classroom. It is my second home!

These are our book boxes that store the exciting books and magazines we are reading.	If you are the "Big Cheese" for the week, you get to sit in the fancy desk with a fancy chair.	This is our ROCKET Binder which allows for communication between school and home.

 

 

This is our meeting area. We meet to schedule the day and for mini lessons. It is the hub of our classroom.	This is only 2/3 of our classroom library! We have about 2,000 books in our library so no one is ever allowed to say they can't find something to read.

 

Since we have tables, we don't have storage at our fingertips. Everyone has a cubby that houses our notebooks and folders.	Here is our computer station. Computers are open all day for AR test, research, and free time. We also have 32 laptops that we bring into the room for further learning.	This mailbox is available for students to drop me a note about anything.

 

This is our Book Nook chart. We have any chairs, pillows, and seats that are very popular during reading time. We have a rotation schedule that allows everyone to have a chance at the hot spots.	This is our check in center. Each morning, students stop to sign in for lunch and turn in homework and notes. This station also has any supplies the students may need like paper clips, bandaids, and rubber bands.	We are lucky to have a fridge and microwave in our room. Sometimes I'll pop popcorn if we have working hard. If I come across good work, I like to put it up on the fridge for the week. :-)
